Well I guess that’s not true. I wanted my driver’s license so badly that I was convinced I would die some tragic death just before my 16th birthday. Did I mention I was a dramatic kid?
Seriously though, it’s been a while since I’ve truly yearned for something in my kitchen and now I can’t stop daydreaming about the new line of Slate dutch ovens, exclusive to Williams Sonoma. Perhaps, it’s the fact that I constantly use my Le Creuset pot. I’ll lie and say that knowing I would get a Le Creuset pot on my wedding registry was half the reason I got married. Ok not half. More like 1/10 the reason. I cook with my pot all of the time (and Joe you benefit so no complaints for my last comment). If you love to cook, it’s hard to imagine a kitchen without one.
Le Creuset has always had great colors. I was conservative choosing my first color; Dune. Nothing really wowed me at the time. However, my never-ending fetish with the color gray prevents me from getting this dutch oven out of my mind. It’s just so damn beautiful and useful at the same time.
Alas, our priorities lie with building a real, working kitchen and I’ll have to pass on the dutch oven for now. Instead I’ll just thank my brother and sister-in-law for getting us the first one. Thank you MB & Richie! For the rest of you, get yours here.
